The Spooky Book Tag

Happiest of Halloweens my bookworms! I know this is a halloween unlike any we have ever experienced, and I hope you are all finding socially distanced ways to enjoy the holiday this year. Let me know in the comments what you are all dressing up as, I love to hear everyone’s creative choices. I saw this tag over at Zeezee with Books and I decided it was the perfect way to celebrate the spookiest day of the year! I honestly can’t remember if I have done this tag before and I am too lazy to check, so if I have this will be a fun little update to my old answers.

CORN MAZE

WHAT BOOK HAD YOU CONFUSED AND LOST FROM THE VERY BEGINNING?

I know I will get some hate for this but, Lord of the Rings. I tried, I really did, but after 30+ pages in the prologue on the history of habits I had to tap out, and I never tapped back it. To be entirely honestly, the movies didn’t go over much better with me either.

HAUNTED HOUSE

WHAT BOOK HAS THE CREEPIEST SETTING?

Anna Dressed in Blood for sure! The location in general isn’t that creepy, I mean it’s small town Canada. But the creepy story, the ghosts and all the death really makes this one of the creepiest books I have read

GHOST BOYFRIEND

WHO IS YOUR ETERNAL BOOK BOYFRIEND?

Alright so I know this might seem a little creepy since he is just a teenager in the books, but honestly I had such a big crush on Percy growing up and I just could never shake it, he will always be my number 1.

CARAMEL APPLE SUCKERS

BEST DANG HALLOWEEN BOOK EVER.

I have to go with a classic for this one, you just can’t beat the original Dracula story! And no Vampires most definitely should NOT sparkle.

“VAMPIRES IN EVERYTHING”

WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE HALLOWEEN TROPE?

“PUMPKIN IN EVERYTHING”

Vampires 10000000%, I’m sorry but twilight and the Vampire Diaries ruined it for me, I just cannot stand the romanticized vampires anymore, give me some classic scary ones come on!

YOU FAVORITE HALLOWEEN TROPE?

I think the “we must go investigate this abandoned building” trope is a timeless classic. It is always creepy and scary no matter how many times I see or read about it.

EVIL INCARNATE

THE MOST EVIL VILLAIN

I think in a very real sense it has to be Ramsey Bolton. He was just pure evil, and he did so many things that actually made me want to stop watching Game of Thrones. And considering that show has its fair share of evil characters, that’s is saying something.

OUJJI BOARD
A BOOK THAT MESSES WITH THINGS THAT YOU DON’T WANT TO BE INVOLVED IN

Sawkill Girls for sure. It was just creepy and honestly I want no part in that world, at least beyond reading about it from the safety of my couch.

FULL MOON

WHAT CHARACTER DO YOU WANT TO TURN INTO ON THE FULL MOON?

I was trying to be unique with my answers but I just couldn’t think of any other character. I would love to have Luna’s ability to just truly be herself.

ALL HALLOWS EVE

THE OTHER WORLD AND THIS WORLD HAVE MESHED FOR ONE NIGHT; WHAT BOOK WORLD WOULD YOU LOVE TO BE SWEPT UP IN?

That’s a tough one, usually I would say Harry Potter, but in the spirit of trying to be unique in my answers I will say the Grishaverse, because I would like to have a cool power.

VOODOO DOLL

WHAT AUTHOR WOULD YOU LOVE TO TAKE CONTROL OF AND MAKE THEM WRITE YOU ANYTHING YOU WANT?

I’m going to say Cinda Williams Chima, because she really tore out my heart and stomped on it after the Demon King Series so I would really like her to rectify that.

BLACK CAT

WHAT RED FLAGS DO YOU LOOK OUT FOR WHEN FIRST STARTING OUT A BOOK?

Oh gosh I don’t really know, I guess for me I tend to see books in my head like a movie when I read, so if I start reading a book and this doesn’t happen, like I can just hear myself reading the words in my head, then I know I won’t love it. Also if I keep wanting to put it down and do something else, that’s not a good sign.

WITCHES BREW

A BOOK THAT HAD A LOT OF DIFFERENT COMPONENTS THROWN IN BUT THE RESULT WAS MAGICAL.

This book had SO MUCH going on but in the end it really just worked. I am usually not a super fan of SJM but I genuinely loved this book and I thought it felt different than her usual YA books which is really what I was hoping for.

I TAG:

All of you lovelies! Have a happy Halloween, and celebrate responsably this year.

  1. Lol! Same here on Lord of the Rings but mostly because it bored me so much. I completed the book but didn’t bother to complete the trilogy. I didn’t mind the movies though.
