The Christmas Carol Book Tag

It is less than one week to Christmas! I am so excited, this is definitely my favourite time of year, and so for day 18 of Blogmas, I thought it was time for another book tag. Today’s tag is the Christmas Carol book tag, looking at some of our favourite Christmas songs. I saw this tag over at Book Princess Reviews so please go check out their amazing post as well! All right, let’s get right to it…

YOU’RE A MEAN ONE, MR. GRINCH
Name a villanous character you can’t help but love to hate.

There are so many great ones for this question! I think this would be a tie between Dolores Umbridge from Harry Potter and The Darkling from the Grishaverse. Both are just so wonderfully evil, they are easy and fun to hate.

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU
What book do you most want to find under your Christmas tree this year?

I don’t know! So many lol. I think the book I would love to get is the illustrated edition of the 4th Harry Potter book, but honestly I am happy with any book I receive.

RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER
Name a favourite character that had to overcome a major obstacle.

I think I’ll say Nova from Renegades, just because I recently finished that series and it’s on my mind. Nova had to overcome her villainous upbringing, not to mention all the villains trying to stop her from turning to the good side and doing the right thing!

SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN
Which characters do you think are at the top of Santa’s “Naughty” and “Nice” list?

This is such a fun question! I think that I will say Percy Jackson will be the top of the Nice list (I mean how many times has he saved the world at this point?). Fo the Naughty list, I will have to say Maven from the Red Queen, he is just a plain psycho.

FROSTY THE SNOWMAN
What book just melts your heart?

A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue. It was so adorable and sweet, it warms my heart every time I read it. The romance was just so satisfying and never fails to make me smile.

FELIZ NAVIDAD
Y
our favourite book that takes place in a country other than your own.

Hahahaha every book I have read? no books take place in Canada, so it really isn’t hard to find one. I also tend to read mostly Fantasy books which don’t even take place on our earth! I will say The Beautiful which took place in New Orleans.

IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR
What book do you read to get in the Christmas spirit?

Recently it has been The Afterlife of Holly Chase, which is a really fun retelling on the classic A Christmas Carol. But overall I tend to watch Christmas movies to get in the holiday spirit.

SLEIGH RIDE
What character would you most want to spend the holidays with?

Can I saw all the Harry Potter characters? I would love to hang with the original trio, but it wouldn’t be the holidays without Luna, Ginny, Fred, George and the rest of the gang either!

BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE
What book do you hate so much you would sacrifice it to the fire to stay warm?

The Magicians, no question about it. And if the fire was still dying I would chuck Wuthering Heights on there too.

DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR?
What book would you recommend to everyone?

Besides Harry Potter (because if you haven’t read that by now you are probably a lost cause lol). I think I would have to say The Book Thief. I love that book and I think it has a little something for everyone. I know that historical stuff isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it really as a wonderful message, and it is one of the only stories about WW2 I have encountered that doesn’t paint all germans as evil, which is really refreshing.
