Happy Tuesday, yet another month is over and it is officially October, and I for one am excited because I love fall and the closer I get to Christmas the happier I become! Today it’s time for Top 10 Tuesday a meme created by The Broke & the Bookish, but which is now hosted by Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl featuring a different bookish related theme each week. This week’s theme is Authors I’d love to meet (*hint *hint if any of them are reading this). I am not usually a person to fangirl intensely over celebrities (internally for sure but outwardly I try to play it cool). But I f I got to meet any of these amazing humans I would probably be struck speechless, because as an aspiring writer they are some of my biggest role models! I would also love to get some inside knowledge about some of my favourite series because the wait for the next books is unbearable!
1. J.K. Rowling
How could she not be on this list, Harry Potter is my favourite series of all time. I was in Edinburgh on exchange last semester but sadly as hard as I tried I did not see her there.
2. Rick Riordan
I grew up with his books and they are a big reason I began studying history. I would love to get the chance to meet him and ask about my favourite characters.
3. Morgan Rhodes
Falling Kingdoms is one of my favourite series and Morgan seems like such a cool person. I think just having a coffee with her would be amazing!
4. Michael Crichton
I love his books (Jurassic Park is one of my all time favourites), I would love to get the chance to ask him how he gets his ideas, and about his process. I am sure he would have a lot of advice.
5. Maggie Stiefvater
Her books are so fun, and she seems like such a genuinely nice person. It would be amazing to have my copy of Raven Boys signed by her.
6. Cinda Williams Chima
Another one of my top 5 fantasy series of all time is Demon King. Cinda is a master at high fantasy writing and I would love to ask her about her process.
7. Marissa Meyer
As many of you are probably painfully aware at this point, Renegades is one of my favourite reads of this year, and probably of all time. I would love to go to a signing by Marissa just so I could tell her how much I love her writing.
8. Victoria Aveyard
Red Queen is another one of my favourites and getting to meet Victoria would be such a great experience.
9. Sabaa Tahir
An Ember in the Ashes is such a great book, and the last one in the series ended on quite the cliffhanger. I need to know what happens next, so you can bet that would be the first question I would ask (even though she probably wouldn’t tell me).
10. Mary Shelley
Ok I know she isn’t alive anymore but who wouldn’t want to meet Mary Shelley?! She pioneered the scifi/horror genre and I would love to get the chance to talk to her about it all.
What about you guys? are there authors you really want to meet, or perhaps ones you have met?
