It’s that time of month again my bookish friends, it’s time for another Monthly Wrap Up! Also I am celebrating one whole year of blogging! It’s been an amazing year, and I have fallen in love with the blogging community, you are all so amazing and supportive, it makes doing this so much fun. I never would have thought when I started that in only a short year I would have over 400 followers, I am so grateful that you all want to read my bookish ramblings every week! August was a great month for me, as I really got time to sit down and read before classes start again in September.
One Dark Throne By: Kendare Blake 3/5 Stars
This sequel to Three Dark Queens was compelling but didn’t quite live up to the dark and exciting story of the first book. It suffered from the classic sequel slog for me, but hopefully book three will be better!
And I Darken By: Kiersten White 4/5 Stars
This book was an awesome surprise, I knew nothing about it before I started, and I really loved it. It is full of compelling characters and interesting historical re-tellings. I mean Vlad the Impaler re-imagined as a fierce warrior woman, need I say more?
The Loneliest Girl in the Universe By: Lauren James 4/5 Stars
This was an insane book! I started off thinking it would be a cute scifi romance, a fluffy and light read… how wrong I was. This book surprised the heck out o me, in the best way possible.
My Plain Jane By: Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows 3.5/5 Stars
Another enjoyable book by the Lady Janies, though not quite as funny as the first one (My Lady Jane). It is a fun re-telling of the Jane Eyre story with Ghosts and even an appearance from Charlotte Bronte herself.
Awards and Tags:
I love book tags, they are such an awesome way to get to know other bloggers and to share some info about me with you guys! This was a slow month for tags, but I did do a really fun one: the #Notall book tag.
