Happy Wednesday my lovelies, I thought it was high time to another one of my personal favourite posts, my book re-imaginings! I have so much fun doing these, and even more fun hearing all of your reactions to them, so as usual please leave your thoughts in the comments for me, I love to read them.
For those of you who are new to this post, basically what I do is take three popular YA books or stories and re-imagine them in different ways. Either new perspectives, new setting or new genres.
A New Perspective:
The Selection through Prince Maxon’s perspective
I genuinely would want this book written, I love The Selection and I have always wondered what the story would have looked like if Maxon had been our protagonist instead of America!
A New World
The Three Musketeers set in Atlantis
I decided to choose something totally random for this category, I have no idea how this would work. Would they be in the past in Atlantis, like an underwater medieval society? or would it be futuristic? I have no idea, but I think it would be fun to find out.
A New Genre:
My Plain Jane as a horror story
This book is originally a romantic comedy re-telling of Jane Eyre’s story, so I think it would be fun to see it written like a horror story. It already has all the elements, the characters track and “kill” ghosts, there are conspiracies and villains. It definitely wouldn’t be hard to look at it through the horror lens.
What are your thoughts on my re-imaginings? Do you have any you think would go better with my picks? Also feel free to give this a go yourself, just link back to me so I can see all your ideas!
I have yet to read My Plain Jane, but your reimagining is already intriguing to me!! 🙂

Such a creative list. Sadly I’m not familiar with any of the original books. I’ll have to work on that.

I’m obsessed with getting alternate POVs so I totally agree about Maxon

I would honestly read the whole series as written through his POV

Wow, I am absolutely in love with the idea of The Three Musketeers in Atlantis…medieval or futuristic!! I was trying to figure out if I just love the idea of putting classic literature or familiar stories in general in an underwater society, but I feel like it wouldn’t work as well with something like Jane Eyre. Maybe it has something to do with the adventure? Either way, this totally made my day to think about!

I know right! I like the idea of very traditional characters in futuristic settings
