Happy Wednesday bookworms, I was thinking it was high time for another WWW Wednesday post, since I have actually been making considerable headway with my TBR pile! This is a meme hosted by Sam from Taking on a World of Words where anyone who wants to participate answers three questions. As usual I love to hear your answers as well! So without further ado, let’s dive right in…
What are you currently reading?
No one expects a princess to be brutal. And Lada Dragwlya likes it that way. Ever since she and her gentle younger brother, Radu, were wrenched from their homeland of Wallachia and abandoned by their father to be raised in the Ottoman courts, Lada has known that being ruthless is the key to survival. She and Radu are doomed to act as pawns in a vicious game, an unseen sword hovering over their every move. For the lineage that makes them special also makes them targets.
Lada despises the Ottomans and bides her time, planning her vengeance for the day when she can return to Wallachia and claim her birthright. Radu longs only for a place where he feels safe. And when they meet Mehmed, the defiant and lonely son of the sultan, Radu feels that he’s made a true friend—and Lada wonders if she’s finally found someone worthy of her passion.
But Mehmed is heir to the very empire that Lada has sworn to fight against—and that Radu now considers home. Together, Lada, Radu, and Mehmed form a toxic triangle that strains the bonds of love and loyalty to the breaking point.
I picked this book up recently because I was drawn in by its amazing cover and the great reviews I have seen of it. I am loving it so far, it is full of royal intrigue and dynamic characters!
What did you recently finish reading?
In a world where women have no rights, sisters Serina and Nomi Tessaro face two very different fates: one in the palace, the other in prison.
Serina has been groomed her whole life to become a Grace–someone to stand by the heir to the throne as a shining, subjugated example of the perfect woman. But when her headstrong and rebellious younger sister, Nomi, catches the heir’s eye, it’s Serina who takes the fall for the dangerous secret that Nomi has been hiding.
Now trapped in a life she never wanted, Nomi has only one way to save Serina: surrender to her role as a Grace until she can use her position to release her sister. This is easier said than done. A traitor walks the halls of the palace, and deception lurks in every corner. But Serina is running out of time, imprisoned on an island where she must fight to the death to survive and one wrong move could cost her everything.
I got this book in my June Fairyloot box and really enjoyed it, a review is coming soon so stay tuned!
What do you think you’ll read next?
Mare Barrow learned this all too well when Cal’s betrayal nearly destroyed her. Now determined to protect her heart—and secure freedom for Reds and newbloods like her—Mare resolves to overthrow the kingdom of Norta once and for all… starting with the crown on Maven’s head.
But no battle is won alone, and before the Reds may rise as one, Mare must side with the boy who broke her heart in order to defeat the boy who almost broke her. Cal’s powerful Silver allies, alongside Mare and the Scarlet Guard, prove a formidable force. But Maven is driven by an obsession so deep, he will stop at nothing to have Mare as his own again, even if it means demolishing everything—and everyone—in his path.
War is coming, and all Mare has fought for hangs in the balance. Will victory be enough to topple the Silver kingdoms? Or will the little lightning girl be forever silenced?
In the epic conclusion to Victoria Aveyard’s stunning series, Mare must embrace her fate and summon all her power… for all will be tested, but not all will survive.
This series has had some ups and downs for me, but overall I have really enjoyed it and I can’t wait to see how it all comes to an end.
Great post, I haven’t read none of these books but there are some books that I do really want to read, I especially want to read Grace and Fury because I heard nothing but great things about that book. Thank you so much for sharing your awesome post.

I haven’t read her books, but Kiersten White was at a book festival where I live last year. She had a great sense of humor, and the way she described her books made me want to read them – it’s just finding the time! https://teripolen.com/2018/07/18/www-wednesday-what-am-i-reading-amreading-10/

I am kind of nervous about not liking it, I hate when a final book ruins a series for me (*cough* *cough* Allegiant)
