Hocus Pocus Book Tag

 

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! since it’s halloween I thought it was time for me to do this awesome book tag, that the lovely Naty over at Naty’s Bookshelf tagged me in, check out her post  here  The tag was created by Katie at Never Not Reading I know I’m posting a day early *gasp* but how could I not post on Halloween? (cue evil halloween laugh). This tag was also awesome because it gave me an excuse to watch the Hocus Pocus and procrastinate doing my work!

1. The Sanderson Sisters

A great trilogy:

The Darkest Minds By Alexandra Bracken. This series was great, each book introduced new awesome characters, and it had really great dystopian elements! I highly recommend it.

2. Winifred Sanderson

A book with a truly evil female villain:

Ok I am going to follow the crowd with this one and say Bellatrix Lestrange. She is just evil and badass and I really appreciate it. She is also the only female death eater so I think she deserves props for that.

3. Sarah Sanderson

A book that uncannily attracts children:

Nancy Drew by Carolyn Keene. I know I read these books as a kid, and I was determined to own them all (I never made it there, but I do have around 60 still sitting in my shelf somewhere). There was just something about them that was fun and entertaining.

 

4. Mary Sanderson

A book that is just plain silly:

My Lady Jane was so silly in such an amazing way. I think I have mentioned it a few times before on my blog, and it is honestly such a funny read. Even if you don’t usually go for historical fiction I would recommend this book.

5. Max

A book that is trying really hard to be cool, but doesn’t always succeed:

Shatter Me was just not as good as I was expecting. I think it was trying to channel x-men and it just didn’t work out for me. I never read the other books in the series either.

6. Dani

A book that isn’t afraid to tell it like it is:

For this one I chose Six of Crows because I think that book isn’t afraid to show gritty and flawed characters without trying to sugarcoat anything. This truthfulness is what made the book so great, even though not all the characters were ‘good’ we still loved them.

7. Binx

A book series that just won’t die:

I am going to go with a lot of other people who have used this answer and say the Cassandra Clare’s books. I don’t even know how many there are by now but they just keep on coming out, it is getting to be way too much.

8. Ice

A book with a character that’s dumb as a rock:

I am going to go with Bella Swan from Twilight. I’m sorry she was just not very bright and it really got on my nerves. She is probably why I dislike the books so much if I’m being honest.

 

9. The Black Flame Candle

A book or series you wish you could resurrect:

So I chose Legacy of Tril by Heather Brewer. This is a book that was supposed to have a sequel, and ended on a horrible cliff hanger, and then the sequel never came out. The publishers pushed back the release date, then eventually took it away all together. Last year (3 years later) they said it would be released as an ebook but that didn’t happen either. I am dying to know what happened! this book NEEDS to come out.

10. Headless Billy Butcherson

A book that’s not so bad as people make it out to be:

I really don’t know why people don’t like Red Queen. I know some of the characters had their annoying moments (looking at you Mare), but I still thoroughly enjoyed the series.

11. Winifred Sanderson’s Spell Book

A book with a mind of its own:

This one is hard, um I guess I will have to say Harry Potter. Because I feel like that world has definitely taken on a life of its own and gone above and beyond its origins. It really feels like it exists, which is why it’s so magical!

12. Garry Marshall

A book with a cameo:

Pretty much all of Rick Riordan’s books. I recently read the first chapter of Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard: The Ship of the Dead for the sole purpose of seeing Percy and Annabeth.
